BSA M20 Rear pre-42 #48-6
/ Michael RockThe venerable BSA M20 went through some changes in its approx 20 year production span. By early 1942 valanced rear mudguards were becoming rare and by the end of 1942 it appears the centre rib also disappeared. We guess that as supplies changed from ribbed to plain guards, bikes assembled during WW2 emerged with various configurations of front or rear ribbed depending on availability. This 1942 version is with rib, two-piece step-down join and duck-tailed end. It has two reinforced button pressings for the join bolts, then frame and chain clearance pressings at the nose.
